Girls on Bikes acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia, their diversity, histories and knowledge and their continuing connections to land, water and community. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and to Elders past, present and emerging.

BIKES OUT FOR THE GIRLS

It’s that season again – Spring Cleaning! Welcome in the warmer weather by donating your good quality disused bikes

Girls on Bikes is a free learn-to-ride program, which aims to mobilise and connect migrant and refugee women in the Canberra community. By donating your disused bike, you can empower a woman to learn to ride, get fit, take part in a new recreational activity, participate in the Canberra community, and join in on an age old Canberra-loving activity – riding around the lake!

If you have a good quality disused bike, or know of friends and family who do, contact us to donate it today.

Girls on Bikes currently run four programs a year for 48 women and we hope to expand this further. However, without bikes for the women to ride the program cannot take place. With that in mind, please share this call for bikes as widely as you can so that we can provide all women with this important and fun life skill.

If you are unable to donate a bike but would still like to be involved in this innovative and exciting program that connects women to the Canberra community, please share this Spring Cleaning appeal widely!
